Nepali flag hoisted at NYC Triathlon
Nepali flag hoisted at NYC Triathlon by New Yorker Nepali activist Anil Jung Shahi on July 19, 2015 to raise awareness about Open Learning Exchange (OLE-Nepal). Mr. Shahi completed triathlon with a smile in his face. The triathlon consists of 1500 M swim, 40K Bike & 10K run. It starts with swimming on Manhattan's Westside at 99th Street and the Hudson River. Athletes swim south and exit just north of the 79th Street Boat Basin before running into transition. Each year, thousands of athletes brave the waters of the mighty Hudson River before biking along Manhattan's West Side highway. Finally, athletes put on their running shoes for a run through New York's famed Central Park in the final stage of this iconic race. Mr. Shahi, a dare-devil skydiving enthusiast had also done skydiving on his 45th birthday in Long Island, New York on May 22, 2014. Photos courtesy: Anupama Basnyat
